Originally, a palimpsest was a writing material on which the original writing had been effaced to make room for other writing. I chose to use this idea but as well as painting over text. I also printed over body prints and painted over the top of the whole thing. I was after a more spontaneous approach and printed off odd things like screw heads and leaves.
