SYSTEM PAINTINGS relate letters of the alphabet in the titles to a variety of painting techniques, rather than obeying any aesthetic rules. When I showed these paintings to some artists at the LYC Gallery, Cumbria in the late 1970’s; they were received with the same amount of derision that Picasso suffered when he first showed Les Demoiselles d’Avignon.
